Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Sharlene from Real Life Reading that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
What did you pick up this week?
Americanah is wonderful but I don’t know the others you picked up. I’m assuming the Ellis Peters is not one of the cadfael series?
Correct re the Ellis Peters, it’s one of her stand alone mysteries. The main draw for me (as I’m not a big mystery fan) is the setting: the Austrian Tyrol. Peters was well-travelled and uses her experiences well in her books. This one didn’t do much for me so I ended up abandoning it but I thoroughly enjoyed Holiday with Violence, set in the mountains of Northern Italy and finishing in Venice, and The Piper on the Mountain, from her Felse series, which takes place in Slovakia in the Tatra mountains.
I never knew about any of those books.
Ooh the new Jasmine Guillory! I’m still on hold for the ebook. Hope it’s good!
It’s solid but didn’t leave a deep impression. Still a fun way to pass a couple of hours!
I love getting audiobooks from my library. I recently got Serpentine by Jonathan Kellerman and Call me Indian by Fred Sasakamoose.
Enjoy!
