This picture comes from, I believe, a Swedish real estate website. Here’s my tip for the day: if you’re ever trolling for design ideas, check out Scandinavian property sales websites. There is always something inspiring on offer.
I love how simple and unpretentious this room is. There is nothing ornate here, just a welcoming room (with a particularly nice rug) . I love that there is a little reading light behind the sofa and that the sofa has been positioned with its back to the windows so that people sitting there get the best light. There has been no attempt to style the bookshelves, just to jam as many things in there as possible, and that is certainly familiar.
I love that it’s modern (sleek furniture) but still feels so cozy (bay window and books!) P.S. My new discovery is that there are entire blogs devoted to paint colors. Totally addicting1
A lovely place to sit and read – or just sit.
This room is a delight! I love how the sofa is positioned – this ‘works’ as the back of the sofa is no higher then the window sill. I also like the lack of curtains/drapes (no doubt the shutters are workable.) Yes, the rug is the item I most covet and I also like the unframed painging against the white wall on the right hand side – it looks very much like a gallery, but more cosy, even if the ewalls are white and there is mainly hard flooring, not soft wall-to-wall carpet.
This room is wonderful. I love the windows and of course the jam packed bookshelves. Very inspiring!
What a fantastic mix of old and new. This room feels both vintage and contemporary. I love it!
