Love the blog, Claire! I am so happy the my “book-buddy” recommended you to me. Since you have blogged about many of my favorites – including ones from those formative years, I wondered if you had read “Mrs. Mike” by Nancy and Michael (I believe) Freeman. It is the only book other than Anne of Green Gables from my pre-teen years that I loved set in Canada. Being raised in Wisconsin in the States, I wondered how you felt about the book.
Welcome, Sue! I have read Mrs Mike but not for many years and I am afraid I have forgotten quite a lot about it! It was never a particular favourite but I do remember enjoying it and did reread it quite a few times during my preteen years.
