A big week for Essie Summers novels via inter-library loans here – all the way from Newfoundland! That’s a lengthy journey, about 5,000km by plane, and I am endlessly amazed and appreciative that they all come at no cost to me.

The Captive Reader 
You have these in the right order but note that The Forbidden Valley is not part of a series as the other three are (very loose but try to read in order). I remember really liking One More River to Cross.
Having them arrive in order is the ultimate luxury! I usually take whatever I can get so it will be fun to read in sequence for once.
