Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Sharlene from Real Life Reading that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
It has been insanely hot here recently so the only thing my brain is capable of is very, very light reading. All of my super-light summer reading holds came through at once so I’m well equipped for this:
What did you pick up this week?
It;s been hot and humid here too but nothing like what you’re going through. It sounds so awful. I hope it changes soon and I’m glad you have some respite reading!
It has been awful and so tragic. I’ve been lucky with where I’ve been through the hottest part but seeing all the deaths and new forest fires in the news has been difficult.
I hope yiu are not in the Seattle corridor where it’s spins horrendous right now.
I’m further north in Canada, where it’s been even hotter than in the US. I was out of Vancouver when the heat wave hit there but in an even hotter portion of the province where it hit 45C (113F). I was in a place with air conditioning (which is amazing because no one in Vancouver has it) but there are now plenty of forest fires going (dry lightening storms rolled through during the heat wave and sparked many new fires, as did humans).
Back when I worked in publishing, I worked with Susan Elizabeth Phillips and became a big fan of hers, although I find that some of her books are much better than others (I suppose that is true of most writers). She is also extremely nice to I am glad the books sell well. I am looking forward to reading this new one. All of these look appealing!
