Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Sharlene from Real Life Reading that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
I’m taking a little break from work to try and sort out some health issues but, annoyingly, somehow removing work from my schedule hasn’t equated to more reading time. More appointments – yes. More worrying – yes. More time to focus intently on a book and escape for a few hours – no. My concentration is really suffering through this so it’s mostly light reading for me. Luckily, I have plenty available:
What did you pick up this week?
I’m sorry you are having to deal with health issues, and I hope they’re resolved quickly. I know that feeling of being unable to concentrate, so I’m glad you have such excellent distractions.
Claire, I hope you get well soon!
I’m dealing with some worrisome health issues, too, so I can sympathize. It’s very hard to concentrate. Wishing you a rapid return to good health.
I understand about health issues and concentration too! Hoping yours are resolved (or at least easier to cope with) soon.
Sorry to hear about your issues. Hope you have some resolution soon. It looks like some good books you have picked up (I’m curious about the Falling one)- and those you recently reviewed, too! Hope you find some peace of mind to enjoy reading them.
Hope you feel better soon. I will look into your Elizabeth Cadell titles. I’m slowly going through Andy Weir’s Hail Mary.
Take care, and be well soon.
I can understand why the Claire Nelson book might not quite work as light reading. I took a look at the Guardian review and a CBC article about the event… I HAVE to read this book. :^0
Hope your health issues get resolved soon. Take care!
Sometimes a few calming garden magazines can be just the thing when my thoughts are elsewhere. Thinking of you, Claire, and hoping whatever ails is a distant memory soon.
Hope you feel better soon, and in the meantime, there is nothing better than a good book to distract. Glad you picked up some Cadell – I have one waiting for me at the library that I am pretty sure I never read. Darcie Wilde is new to me but looks good. I was disappointed in The Road Trip after finding The Flatshare quite charming.
