I agree. I have never cared for that strange stand for books which looks as though it would topple over if one tried to take a book from it. Something about the other books looks like an afterthought to me.

I think it’s the lack of soft furnishings to provide comfort or colour. There should be a comfortable chair for reading. I also agree about that stack of books looking as if its about to topple, which considering it appears to be next to a door, seems quite likely.
Me too – it is as if the books are decorative features only, one wouldn’t be encouraged to read in it.
Oh sure. Lots of space for books, but much of it is wasted on tchotchkes. Hence the leaning tower of Penguins.
