When I was planning things to do for my London visit last spring, I came across Emery Walker’s House in Hammersmith. I love a house museum and I especially love the Arts and Crafts movement. Sadly, I didn’t make it there on this visit but it’s on the list for a future one!
Such an interesting house! A group of us from the Angela Thirkell Society went in the summer because of the links with William Morris (whose Kelmscott House a little way down the river from Emery Walker makes a good “double bill”). Because it is so exactly as it was you have to book – I think the maximum is 8 at a time. Well worth the trip: a real step back into the past.
Oh lovely! Not one I’ve been to!
