Looking for a blast from the past? The bones are good – you can never go wrong with that much light – but otherwise I find this room horrid. I would keep the chesterfield and the carpet in the dining area but that’s about it. Even the shelves offend me with their ugliness.
Lovely.
Lots to absorb here but in a good way.
There does seem to be rather a clash of colours there, but I do get the impression this library is used and enjoyed, and is not just a showpiece.
My first thought was that the books were just chosen by a decorator. They all look like big coffee table books selected by color, not by people who actually read them. Agree about the sofa and the rug, everything else has to go.
Needs a bit of tweaking!
I love this room…it’s authentic, you know someone lives there and really uses the room. It’s welcoming and so cozy. The shelves are hideous, but who doesn’t have hideous things in their homes that they are just used to living with?
