Very bright and cheerful. Billy shelves work well for me too but I do wish I had the space for half height shelves so that I could display pictures.

These half-height shelves are very practical for one who is over eighty. I have slowly added some to my home for the ease of scanning and/or grabbing that certain book.

We have half-height shelves in the dining end of our living room and I love them, too. It means I can put things on the top – photos, decanters, flowers, etc. A wall of books can be oppressive, even when we love books, half-height prevents this. Above the half-height shelves are a large central mirror and watercolours on either side.
