Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
Off on holiday at the end of this week with plenty of books to hand!
What did you pick up this week?
Looks like a great haul. Enjoy your loot!
Thanks, Pat!
The Captive Reader was mentioned (tagged?) at the North America Angela Thirkell Society biannual meeting this year in Kansas City
Wow! Thanks for letting me know that, John.
I’m currently trying out Anne Perry’s Monk series. A little slow getting into it, but I’m up for a new author and a new series.
Fun! It is always exciting to find a new series you like.
Great stack. Enjoy!
Thanks, Linda!
Oooo – intriguing list of loot.
I’m 1/2 through Kitchens of the Great Midwest by J. Ryan Stradal. A bit quirky but good, and just listened to The Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. Loved it.
Bryson is always good, isn’t he? I had mixed feelings about Kitchens but liked it enough to finish.
I always enjoy Bryson, and Thunderbolt is about the era I grew up in, so hit close to home, gave me some hearty laughs, and reminded me that we have lived in troubled times before. I think I first learned of Kitchens from you – and agree. Mixed feelings, but, still enjoying it. It is an odd enough sort of book that I think I’ll recommend it for our book group as it might generate some interesting discussion. Have a good day.
