What a simply gorgeous room! Where on earth do you find such wonderful book rooms! I love the blue walls and blue isn’t even a favourite colour of mine for interiors! But with all those shades of brown and biscuit, it’s perfect. That was a very 1920s combination, brown and blue, and it looks lovely here, too. Everything is so beautifully balanced – not symmetrical but balanced, and the seascape above the fireplace carries the view ‘through’ the wall; this is an excellent idea in small rooms, to place landscapes and seascapes so that view goes beyond the actual walls.

Such a beautiful colour scheme. Not far away from my own imagined library.
