Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
I’ve been too overwhelmed by other duties lately to read much but, after Thursday, I hope to have time in my schedule for some much needed R&R (rest and reading, obviously). Planning ahead, I’ve already picked up a few books so I’ll be well prepared (though, I have to admit, I couldn’t wait and so I reread The Firebird last weekend as a reward for all my other hard work. Love that book.) :
What did you pick up this week?
I’ve had Gilead on my shelf unread for too long. Maybe I’ll get around to reading it eventually! Hope you enjoy your library loot.
I’ve read Gilead but found it slow going. That Kearsley book is the one I am eyeing!
I have read Leaving Before the Rains and enjoyed the next chapter in Alexandra Fuller’s life.
Just picked up from the library- The Nature of the Beast (Louise Penny) though after the last book in the series I swore I wouldn’t read any more, but heck everyone deserves a second chance. Also Sir John’s Table:the culinary life and times of Canada’s first Prime Minister as I am attending the author’s event at the Kingston Writersfest later this month.
Happy reading,
Nora
Enjoy your R&R!
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street…but there are a few planned reading projects higher up in the queue. Ever hopeful though!
I loved The Firebird too! Have a great week and enjoy your R&R.
I’m really interested in The Firebird! My own loot is more creepy/mystery for RIP.
I loved Gilead. Hmmm that Brenda Bowen book looks like it has taken the cover idea from Where’d You Go Bernadette and the title idea from Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Arnim. Let’s hope the book is good!
Yay Gilead! And I’d love to have more options about The Enchanted August – I loved The Enchanted April, but not sure what the need for the rewrite is.
