Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
Sorry for the slight delay with this week’s Library Loot post – and for the total silence of late. Things have been rather hectic around here, with out of town visitors, a rash of freak accidents and illnesses throughout the family, and far, far too much work. But the good news is I have a long weekend coming up and plenty of books to spend it with!
I spent much of last weekend gardening. This weekend, I plan to put my feet up and read about gardens instead. I’ve never visited either Sissinghurst or Highgrove but would love to one day. And when I tire of gardens, there are short stories by Elizabeth Taylor to dip into.
But, let’s be honest, all the attention is really on this much-anticipated new release:
What did you pick up this week?
Enjoy your loot and your long weekend!
We have a long weekend coming up here in the US too, and it’s going to be a very rainy one here, so I plan to be doing a lot of reading. I just haven’t lined my books up yet. I have four waiting at the library, one of which I don’t even remember requesting! I hope you have a great weekend.
I’m about halfway through A God in Ruins and it is wonderful. And I love Elizabeth Taylor’s stories – lots of good reading for you this weekend.
I’m on the library wait list for A God in Ruins. Have read most all of Kate Atkinson’s books. The Husband’s Secret will be next. Actually, I may start a small knitting project over the holiday. Haven’t knitted anything in a very long time and every time I see someone knitting, I want to, too. Here’s to a restful weekend for you!
I still need to read Life after Life! Enjoy your loot!
Ditto to Kay’s comment. Have to read book I here. Hope your weekend was filled with good weather and books.
I long for that Sissinghurst book – and hurrah for Elizabeth Taylor in NYRB!
Oops, wrong link there…
Just got my notice from the library. God in Ruins is waiting for me. Though, having loved Life After Life, I read a review of GiR that makes me wonder if I’ll really want to read it after all.
Meanwhile, I just reread To Kill a Mockingbird in anticipation of another Great Literary Release.
