Very elegant, and I love the bookshelves, the table and the rug … but I trust that there will be a sofa somewhere (and not a leather-upholstered one which would be cold to the touch) where one could relax with a book.
It strikes my fancy because it looks like the Reference Room in the Carnegie Library where I grew up. That is where reading and learning started for me.
It’s rather too formal for me. More like a reference library than somewhere you’d enjoy curling up with a good book!

Yes! I need those upright chairs to sit at the table to read and stay awake. of to the left would be a reading chair and ottoman to doze in.

Yes to the bookcases and the table. I’d put up some more artwork, some pottery and change the chairs into cozier armchairs.
