Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.
I’m off gallivanting right now (I should be on a train going from Germany to Switzerland when this post goes up) but, after a very non-bookish summer, I’ve loaded my Kobo up with dozens of library ebooks and am looking forward to getting lots of reading done on this vacation. Here are a few of the books I brought along – lots of rereads!:
What did you pick up this week?
I really, really want to read some Agatha Christie, no idea how I have managed to get this far and not!
How did you get four gardens by Margery Sharp? How much is your reserve fee?
I read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister ages ago and enjoyed it. Hope you do too. Enjoy your travels!
I read Four Gardens a few weeks ago and loved it, and The Feast is one of my favourite Margaret Kennedys. Enjoy!
Interlibrary loans are expensive where i live but i have ordered FOUR GARDENS.Most copies online are very tatty and cost £20 plus.
Great selections. I reread Howards End on a vacation this summer and loved it!
Cathy, I’ve not read any Agatha Christie either, but have four or five of her books. You are not alone!
My current reading: The Perfect Home by Kitty (now Kate) Glanville. A lovely summer read.
I love library ebooks for trips — I bring along everything I think I might want to read, and yet my luggage stays light. And if I suddenly realize there was something else I wanted, I swing by a coffee shop and download it 🙂
I love the library. I haven’t done the library ebook thing yet though.
Actually, am reading the wonderful “Ordinary Grace,” by William Kent Krueger. And I have M.J. McGrath’s “The Bone Seekers,” and Linwood Barclay’s “No Safe House” on the immediate stack.
Your library system is more generous than the one I use if they let yiu take all those books out at one time. We are limited to 4
My last comment was an error–i got my bloggers mixed up.Sorry.
The Four Gardens–you are luck y to get it from the library.I have heard it is similar to ElizabethCambridge’s –Hostages To Fortune.LEAVES AND PAGES blog mentioned this i think. Please review it.
