Have a little extra cash lying around? Longing for a country home of your own? Then look no further than this stunning Hampshire home, which includes 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and 6 reception rooms. It is stupidly large and I suspect absurdly expensive but it is oh so lovely inside.

What an amazing property, all so pale and very interesting (I have used the link and looked at all the other photos on the estate agent’s site.) I love that spacious hall, with the gracious staircase. I was surprised, though, that the swimming pool, considering the acreage, is rather small, but as I don’t covet a pool then this wouldn’t put me off purchasing this place, had I the wherewithal!
But how come 8 bedrooms and ‘ONLY’ 7 bathrooms? You’d have thought they could’ve squeezed in a little en-suite bathroom for that ‘last’ bedroom, wouldn’t you? And the kitchen, my goodness, you’d need roller blades to whiz around that space! I like a workable kitchen where all the items one needs – implements, equipment and ingredients – are close at hand and you don’t have to walk several yards to take a hot pan to the sink, for example. It appears that in a lot of very large kitchens such practicalities have been judiciously overlooked (or perhaps the owners/architects don’t think this matters: the wealthy owners would have staff, anyway, to deal with this kind of minor problem!)
What fun it is to sit and dream. I love the second photo; a rather modern version of the old chintz cottage. I could grow found of that kitchen, too. Who knew a sofa could work in a kitchen? Fun post.
It certainly is very beautiful, but I could never imagine myself living somewhere so grand! And I’d be sure to spill something on those white sofas.
I’m afraid the top room makes me feel we’ve come here for a meeting, and one we’re not going to enjoy unreservedly.
Yes, please, I’ll take it! I love the house and as for the grounds – those rhododendrons! So beautiful.
I like the top photo and could easily move right in there. All I’d need would be a kitchen, bathroom and storage space. I’d be fine surrounded by books.
I’d change the gray furnishings to beige tones, as they’re warmer. Otherwise, fine.
