Oh, Wow!!! I just love it. That shade of raspberry is just right with white shelves. In our previous home we had a dark red hall and the passage off it to the bedrooms was pink, and it looked wonderful. Pink and the right shade of red (or raspberry) is a terrific combination. Indeed, I’m not sure that the shelves are actually white – they might be a very pale grey, i.e. better still. And the very simply-styled curtains allow the architraves, the plasterwork on the ceiling, the furniture, the books and the lovely windows to reign supreme without the distraction of an elaborate curtain arrangement. Absolutely beautiful.
That raspberry and cream!! I would normally find that wall color waaaay to overpowering, but it really works because of the hefty dose of cream in the bookshelves and the trim and the furniture.
Yes, this is perfect. I agree with Margaret about the paintwork, I think it is very pale grey, which works brilliantly. I used to use strong colours — had a gorgeous dark red dining room — but recently I took to white walls with pale grey paintwork. It looks lovely too, but this reminds me that it might be time before long to get back into the colours.
