A bit cluttered for my tastes (those stacks of magazines make me twitchy) but still an enticing room.
But they’re nice old issues of Country Life – can’t you see settling down by that fire on a rainy day and reading them?
I like the wall color, but I’m with you – the magazines would have to go (or at least hide somewhere).
I love magazines … have hundreds and hundreds of them! A glorious room.
I agree too about the magazines, there are just too many stacked up.
I agree — lovely room, gorgeous colour, but no to the magazines. One or two, maybe, but a stack like that — come on!
Love the practical recessed bookshleves – less dusting? But agree with everyone, the large pile of mags are a no no.
I think 3 issues, lying casually about for anyone to pick up and browse, are what’s required.
Although having said that, I admit that teetering TBR stack on the table at the right looks very familiar.
Very nice!
Still like the magazines. They make the place look homey. And you’re supposed to have reading material in a library for goodness’ sakes!
Me too. I think magazines add to a library for those few odd moments when you don’t have time to settle down for a longer read. Anyway, I couldn’t be without my collection of “Slightly Foxed” and “The Reader”.

Many of you wouldn’t like my piles of magazines, then, of which there are hundreds, if not thousands, dating back to the early 1980s – World of Interiors, Country Living, Homes & Antiques, etc. I am a magazine junkie, I simply cannot bear to part with them. Of course, there are thousands of books, too!
I wonder what others do with those publications which are neither book nor magazine – guide books to historic houses and gardens, leaflets, etc? I keep those too – the National Trust ones in alphabetical order of property. And I also love catalogues such as those from auction houses, Persephone, Shire Books – should we keep those, too, for some of they are simply too attractive to discard.
