I went through one of life’s more stressful events this week: I resigned from my job. As much as I love the company and admire my boss, it just wasn’t the right fit between us and I was finding that made for a very stressful working environment for me. It went better than any resignation has a right to go and I’ll still be working there for the next month or so (and maybe in another role after that) but it made for an exhausting week. Now that it is amicably settled, I am feeling just exhausted and want nothing more than to curl up and spend the weekend enjoying the little things: sleep, good books, spring flowers, and all the excellent posts my blog friends have written over the past few weeks that I have been too stressed and busy to read or comment on.
That’s a lovely library – I hope your weekend is lovely and relaxing, and that the job decision goes well for you!
I love that library! except the sofa & chair would be tea-stained in no time.
I’m sorry to hear about the job, but glad that you recognized what was best for you, and it sounds like things are coming to an amicable end. Hopefully this will be a relaxing & restorative weekend for you.
It sounds like you have done the right thing. I hope it all works out for the best.
Glad that things seem to have worked out well, and do wish you a very relaxing weekend. As for this room…love everything about it, but especially the fireplace and piano. It wouldn’t make for “quiet” daytime reading at my house with four piano players, but ah, the evening reads in front of the fire…yes, I can see myself here. 🙂
Well done, Claire, for making a brave decision. Enjoy a relaxing weekend now – and, if anywhere is perfect for it, that room is!
Congratulations on making a really brave decision. It is a tough one I know from personal experience and as I type this I can almost feel the relief I felt that I made the decision and shared it.
The rewards are a lovely, comfy space to read in, a fabulous book and a little bit of pampering.
hope you have a good weekend, you deserve it!
I’m glad it went okay, and I hope you schedule yourself plenty of relaxing time in the upcoming days and weeks!
Love that library – well, except the beams perhaps. I’m not keen on beams (why do we rhapsodise about beams, which are simply structure, when we’d not want to have plumbing pipes showing, har, har!) but the rest of the room is lovely and, of course, the beams are part of its charm.
Sorry about your stressful week and the whole job thing. I hope whatever comes along next is much better!
