I want those bookshelves! I would also want drapes on the windows, if it’s somewhere cold enough to have a fire. And a little table for my cup of tea, and probably a reading lamp.
I rather agree with Margaret — it looks cold and unwelcoming to me. I know those chairs are comfortable but I’d rather have a squashy old sofa. And I’d have a rug on the floor, especially as the weather is obviously rather chilly.
It does look serene at first glance, but I too, would want a different chair and a rug on the floor. Confession: my first thought was how dusty that floor would be when it wasn’t being photographed!
Fireplace blocking the view to the garden. I think my mind can’t get around it.
Nice looking library.
Hmmm… that big tree looks a little ominous, somehow. 🙂
I like it. Nothing to distract the mind. Just books and warmth…
Needs a nice thick rug under the chair.

A beautiful reading space!
A thick rug with a dog lying on it would be perfect.
Brilliant room – only needs a thick carpet and a chocolate labrador!
My first impression is that it similar to the area in which the gorillas are kept in our local zoo, where they are in a lovely grassy enclosure with trees on which to climb, and we observe them from behind glass … all that is missing outside this area are some monkeys/apes/gorillas, har, har!
I don’t like the fireplace blocking the ‘view’, although really, a tree trunk isn’t what I’d want for my ‘view’. However, the bookshelves look neat and tidy but the whole space looks a trifle too academic for me, as if belongs to some institution of learning, not a residential home. The chair and foot stool might offer some comfort, but I’d want a bit more that just that one item. Having said that (sorry, clichĂ©) the bare floor boards offer space to practice tap dancing!

It does look very nice, but apparently only one person is allowed to read at a time.
Oh my my. Love the flooring, the fireplace, that chair, the view. Love everything
A scenic spot for what I believe is an Eames chair. Very modern.
