My first impression is that it similar to the area in which the gorillas are kept in our local zoo, where they are in a lovely grassy enclosure with trees on which to climb, and we observe them from behind glass … all that is missing outside this area are some monkeys/apes/gorillas, har, har!
I don’t like the fireplace blocking the ‘view’, although really, a tree trunk isn’t what I’d want for my ‘view’. However, the bookshelves look neat and tidy but the whole space looks a trifle too academic for me, as if belongs to some institution of learning, not a residential home. The chair and foot stool might offer some comfort, but I’d want a bit more that just that one item. Having said that (sorry, cliché) the bare floor boards offer space to practice tap dancing!
I rather agree with Margaret — it looks cold and unwelcoming to me. I know those chairs are comfortable but I’d rather have a squashy old sofa. And I’d have a rug on the floor, especially as the weather is obviously rather chilly.
