It will grow with the kids (though I, too, would be worried about kids on those ladders). You can have it, Claire; if you are coveting a library like this, I think it means you are still a kid.
Richard: you are a bloke, blokes don’t think of dangers in the way we women think (esp. those of us who have had children, and inquisitive ones at that.) I appreciate there are dangers in almost everything, but you’d not allow children to climb onto a roof like that, so why indoors? I reckon bunk beds with a soft carpet to cushion falls would be fine, but not for a small child to climb up 8 or 9 or more feet, which it would be doing if it wanted to reach the very top of these shelves. We will just have to agree to disagree. I actually fell as a child, investigating a high cupboard and ended up in hospital having my head stitched. I speak from painful experience. Fortunately, it wasn’t worse than a deep gash.
It is fantastic how many books you can get in. I’ve wanted something like this ever since I was a child. Now I would need a ladder in my kitchen though as sometimes it is hard to reach heights. I was thinking, if I’ll add some good reads to my kitchen cupboards, it would solve my problem finding the time to sit down with a book.
I love this, just fantastic.
Call me a wuss, but I’d be terrified that those youngsters would fall and break their necks.
I can’t resist the rolling ladders!
I want a room like that too 🙂
Awesome. You know kids with a library like that are going to grow into avid readers! Unless it was staged… ?
Margret: wuss. You can’t bubble wrap them.
I think it’s a delightful wall and these are lucky kids.
I want this…in my bedroom, in my living room, in my dining room, down the hallway…

Anything that encourages children to read is ok with me! A delightful space for a child to dream in!
