This has been a big week for me technologically: I finally got a smartphone (my very first non-work cell phone – I was clinging desperately to the 20th Century) and I’ve finally set up a Twitter account (@CaptiveReader). I clearly have no idea what I’m doing so if you lovely readers have any Twitter tips or would simply like to point me towards your accounts or ones you think worth following, speak out!
All a Twitter

You’re having a very good week, Claire! Support your fellow Canadian in space…Chris Hadfield. I don’t even come close to being a space geek but you must admit it would be pretty cool.
My daughter came home with a smartphone on Wednesday so I know what your smile looks like. Enjoy!
Chris Hadfield is pretty cool. I lived with science geeks in university and they were all huge Hadfield fans (and are all avidly following his current adventures).
I think I make an awful smartphone owner since mine has been off most of the time since I got it!
Welcome to the dark side 😀
Thanks, Alice!
I’m clinging, and glad of it. No social media, no cell phone (of any level of smartness), no Twitter or Facebook, just a blog and visits to other blogs like this one. Can’t help, but do hope this new toy doesn’t pull you away from your blog.
The blog will remain front and center, I promise!
Just followed you! Welcome!! (Tips? You’ll probably get a ton of spam followers, esp. at first – just block them. I also found it really helpful to look at who my Twitter friends were following, to find mutual friends and other feeds I was interested in.) I need a new phone, so I’m teetering on the edge of s smart phone.
Thanks for the tips, Audrey!
I’ll look for you on Twitter. I have no idea what I’m doing there either but there is safety in numbers I hope….
