Though my favourite part of this room is the floor, I also love the juxtaposition of the small window seat and the bookshelves. All too often I go to my shelves to grab my next book and end up spend an hour cross-legged on the floor flipping through my collection. A window seat would be much more comfortable!
This is an adorable little space, and such a good use of an awkward corner. Love it all, even the flowers perched high on a shelf (wonder if they are a dried arrangement – I tend not to like dried or artificial flowers or any kind, but these look attractive.) Would love to see what is beyond the window. And even the window seat has a useful drawer in it … not a bit of wasted space and yet it doesn’t look crammed.
I really like this one – from the hinges on the window, to the storage below the seat, to all the little architectural details like the arches on the tops of the shelves and the moulding. Not to mention the fireplace that seems to be there just to the left. Yes, I could really be comfortable here. 🙂 (Would love to see the rest of this house!)
I like this one too! it seems like it would be very cozy, tucked in the chimney corner, and the seat looks long enough to sit length-wise, if not all stretched out.
A charming spot to get lost in, isn’t it? I do the same thing when I’m looking for a book. That window seat would be a nice space to sit on while perusing, though, I’m afraid, my habits are such that it would more likely than not soon be covered with books as well. Sigh.
I love the window, and the yellow and pink combination in the chair. I would definitely spend hours here!
Oh, I like this one!
Oh yes, that window seat, and the chair by the fireplace, are both so inviting. I have to assume, that there are many more book shelves, plus another roomful of them, elsewhere.
I adore this little nook! I’m such a sucker for a window seat.
I. Want. This. I’ve always wanted a window seat. My forever house must have a window seat, built-in bookshelves, and a porch swing.
