Sometimes I find it overwhelming when there are bookshelves on more than one wall in a room, but I think this room strikes the perfect balance. There are books but there is also enough white space to balance the dark spines. Very inviting.
Now, that is my kind of room! Absolutley love it, but much of this is as much to do with the colours as the actual arrangement of books, soft creams and russets, polished wood, pretty throws, lamps and, of coruse, books. I could imagine sitting at that table having a lovely lunch (it looks like the kitchen through the doorway) and then sitting in that lovely leather chair, with coffee, and a good book. Perfect!
What a lovely room! But how do they reach the books above the window?
Simon T, you get a little step-ladder, chuck! Or, if you suffer from vertigo, you get someone else to get them down for you.
Oh, I do like this one! But I’m also drawn to that glimpse of the kitchen…
I like this one too! except for the large cat head on the wall by the chair – I find that a little creepy, and wouldn’t want it looking over my shoulder while I read.
The right mix of cosy and airy
Love this one! And there is something about red in a room that makes me feel good. I could spend many happy hours here!
What a bright, cheerful library. It looks like it is just off the kitchen. Food and books. Who could ask for more?
Oh, I love that one can sit and read, entertain friends, and enjoy a meal all in the comforting presence of those books. Lovely.
This looks like one I’d be delighted to live with – lots of space to read and with a glass of wine conveniently to hand by the look of it too. I love that throw as well.
Yep, I could live there!
Love this one – could definitely live there. But, I would take those masks off the wall and replace them with pastoral paintings.
Love it! I could totally curl up for hours in that chair by the window.
