Usually I am all in favour of making books the focal point of a room but even I can admit that there are times they need to be pushed into the background. Can you imagine waking up to that extraordinary view every day?

Wow! With a view like that I’d have to have a separate, dedicated reading room! …. or a wet, grey, English day.
If I had that view I would never leave the room. I’d be like Maggie Smith, sitting in a dilapidated old chair and being grumpy at anyone who dared to interfere with my reading time in front of that window. Pure bliss.
Then again, you’d need nice thick drapes, because that sheet of blackness would be so cold and forbidding at night, when you’re reading in bed. Wait, though, but then you couldn’t fall sleep under the stars…
Oh my goodness! I was trying to figure out if that amazing window actually opened, since the curtain seems to be billowing in the breeze, but then I noticed the smaller side window – which settled my vertigo!
This reminds me of the first time I went to stay at a ranch in Moose, WY. I got there after dark and the next morning I drew back the curtains in the rustic little cabin and saw the Tetons! They didn’t look real, they looked like a movie backdrop. Doesn’t your soul fly to see such beauty?
Now that is quite somehing! as Pam Travelling Penguin says, Pure Bliss!
I can’t begin to imagine.
Oh. my. I will just say “ditto” to Pam Travellin Penguin. 🙂
I would kill for a view like that. And I agree, I’d never leave the house!!
On a day like that, I would probably not want to leave the room and have a hard time going to work…
I’d only add a lovely tall pile of books to be read standing available beside the bed! Great photo.
Yep! I can imagine myself there.
What an amazing view! Lovely, very relaxing -and there are still lots of books in the room! 🙂
Takes ‘reading in bed’ to an all-time high!
Gorgeous. I also would never want to leave. I really like the exposed rafters too.
That is SPECtacular, love it, thanks for sharing and happy 2013!
I was so captivated by that view that I didn’t spot the bookshelves at first, and wondered why you had featured it in Library Lust!
