I can only assume the owners of this particularly library were either a) still moving in when the photo was taken or b) decided to spend all of their money on books and so were left with none for furniture. I have to say that my priorities would be a little different, preferring sofas and carpets to an extra wall of books, but to each their own.
I’m grinning because I would also be one to spend the money on books, not furniture.
I’d have carpets on the floors and better lighting than that one ceiling fixture, but otherwise, I really appreciate a room with plenty of space for books!
And to have the chairs shoved against the shelves with all that empty floor? Definitely missing a few things…
How terrible, despite all those shelves, they are still having to double-shelf!
It looks like a work in progress, one that I’d be happy to take on.
These people have obviously not heard of weeding books every so often … this is somehow, in spite of the quite decent size of the room, over-stuffed and claustrophobic. No, not one for me.
Personally, I’d have added some beanbag chairs and fuzzy blankets.
Maybe they’re hosting a party and have moved all the furniture and rugs to use the space for a dancing? Nice hardwood floors.
A coffee table too, perhapts?
