This is where I wish I were spending my summer. The weather is finally warm enough here for me to admit it is in fact summer (we’ve now had four consecutive days without rain – practically a drought) but, alas, I am confined to the city. But I can still dream of having a cabin like this to escape to, a place near the water, surrounded by trees, and with a nice big chair to curl up in at night with a good book – provided the dog can be budged from his place there.
That’s lovely – don’t think the dog would move though! Four dry days sound heavenly – one day without rain would count as a heatwave here I think, whatever the temperature!
Isn’t that the coziest of nooks? While you’ve had nothing but rain, we’ve had nothing but heat and no rain. We do have our books, thought, don’t we?
I agree, a very comfortable nook! That chair looks perfect for curling up or stretching out.
I really like this little room and the dog but I would definitely have to have more books on those shelves. They look a bit bare. Looks like a lovely tree outside the window. I always like looking out windows in photos. Just to see if I can see anything. Weird, I know! 🙂 Pam
I agree – needs more books! And I look out the windows in staged room views, too. *And* try to read the spines to see what the books are. Endless amusement when visiting historical sites, etc. “Oh, look! An early edition of *****! I wonder if anyone would notice if I just stretched over the velvet rope for a minute…” Luckily my family is there to repress me most of the time. 😉
But back to the picture – it does look a cosy nook.
Ha! That’s just what I did at Haworth, leaning just a little wee bit over the barricade to see the book on the Brontes’ kitchen table. Alaaaaarm!
I might even be willing to share with the dog. 🙂 If there were snow out the windows and a fireplace opposite, I would be in heaven. (Can you tell I’m tired of the heat?)
The dog would certainly have to shift to the floor … mind you, he’d have warmed the seat, har, har! And no one’s brought me a cup of coffee or even a choccy biccy! Sadly, without these, the little book area is lacking … only joking, I love it!!!

The dog can come and live at our house.
Very cozy spot, I would gladly settle in there to do some reading or daydreaming.
I love this one. Just my cup of tea (which would have to sit on the wooden chest). The dog would take the place of the missing afghan (of the crocheted variety). But yes indeed, more books please. I guess the spaces are there waiting for the resident’s next trip to a charity book sale.
And what’s especially nice about this one is, with the snow outside, one needs no excuses to stay indoors and read.
I love this – it looks so comfortable.
Love this cozy little reading nook. It would be the perfect setting for a cup of tea and an afternoon reading.
Love this, too! The dog is definitely a plus point in selling this picture of a dream nook. 😉
I want the house AND the nice doggie, though she’d have to share the couch with me. And I agree, it needs more books. It looks staged, not like someone’s real library. Unless it’s just a weekend get-away spot.
Love this nook!
