Though I hate that there are two separate bookshelves rather than one continuous unit, I love how many books this room can hold. That is the most important feature of any library, after all. I am not wild about the furnishings – you know me, I love pale, cool colours – but I do like how unfussy everything is.
Library Lust

There is still room on the shelves – another very important library feature! It’s a lovely room, though I’m not sure about the chairs. It might need something deeper and squishier to curl up in for an afternoon of reading.
Those arm chairs actually look pretty cozy to me, but need ottomans and a different color. Yep. I’m sitting there reading right now in my mind. It looks like a beam on the ceiling separating the bookshelves, doesn’t it?
Oh, what a gorgeous room. Dark blue isn’t a favourite colour of mine, but the blue of the chairs is there, in the rug. But do like the pale blue shade for the bookshelves, and the nest of tables and the table near the window are very useful, too. The one small jarring point for me is the cushion – it doesn’t seem to belong in this elegant room. A cushion is required, yes, but not this one.
I don’t like the gap between the bookshelves either, makes me think of wasted space that could hold more books! I do love the beams and it’s very light and airy. However, the yellow chairs are too fussy for my taste. The rug is beautiful though.
I agree that it would have been better with no seperation between the two shelves. Otherwise I like the feel of the room.
I actually like the yellow chairs, as they lighten the room as it could be a rather heavy room if those chairs were darker. As for the seperation, I can see the advantage of having it there.
