I always approve of bookshelves in hallways and these ones come with the perfect accessory to any library: a recumbent black lab.
Very nice – books with their own watchdog! A must for all bibliophiles!
Ah yes, this is pretty near perfect – right down to having the storage available under the bookshelves.
Excellent. I like everything about this, the nice greeny colour, the shelves being even with each other (which for some reason looks more right to me than staggered shelves) the idea that the books are on the way upstairs, for a nice read in bed, or downstairs, for a nice read in the sitting room, with cat.
Oh wait, shelving books by colour — not so much.
So I’ll share my own books-on-the-landing-with-watchcat picture:

I like how the books are organized by color- very attractive to look at. I always wonder how easy it would be to find the book you want, though.
I approve of bookshelves everywhere 🙂 My dream home has shelves even in the bathrooms 🙂
I love the green color, one of my favorites, though I don’t think I’d ever have the patience to sort my books by color, though I just visited a friend who did and it was pretty cool.
I agree, the black lab is the best accessory. And nice usage of the word “recumbent.” I’ll have to try to work it into my vocabulary more often.
What a great spot for a bookcase! Hmmm . . . though I have a large bookcase in our den/library/office, this gives me an idea for a spot similar to the one above. Love the black lab.
Books arranged by colour trouble me, how would I remember the spine colour of my desired read?
