Did I wake up at two o’clock in the morning to watch the Royal wedding? Yes.
Do I still have a full day of work ahead of me, despite my body’s overwhelming desire to fall back into bed? Yes.
Was it worth it? Absolutely. The bridal couple, the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were just as glowing as all newly weds should be, the dress was, of course, beautiful, and I thought the Bishop of London’s sermon was particularly lovely.
What a happy, happy day!
I would have done that too! Hope you get through work ok – at least it’s a weekend ahead! I’ve been glued to the screen at work all monring.
I also throughly enjoyed the wedding, and totally agree with you about the sermon – this was an unexpected highlight.
I still can’t believe that dress. So gorgeous! The couple looked so, so happy. I’ve seen so many pictures of them gazing at each other and it is so stinkin’ cute!
Well Done you!
It was worth it though – a delight to watch.
We were there with you. And it was worth every minute. The kids are downstairs watching the replay with the grandparents who slept through the live take. I think I’m going to sneak in a nap! 🙂
I agree with you on every point, especially loving the sermon myself. Wasn’t it nice to have it so real, so dwelling on the important, instead of “this is the stuff of which fairy tales are made?” I got up early for the wedding, taking the day off of teaching, and I still haven’t gone back for a nap. Maybe we’ll go to bed early tonight?
I was up at 4am here in the midwest, cup of tea in hand and a tissue or two, as I am apt to cry at weddings. Beautiful; the bride, the dress, the ceremony, the bishop’s message and the wonderful way the British people shared their day with the world.
I woke up to watch as well! Such a real life fairy tale 🙂
I was lucky..it was on in the early evening here. Strangely, it was barely on any of the Korean channels. Almost total disinterest. I watched it online.
I hope that you got through the day okay after your 2am start! It really was a wonderful day.
I didn’t watch the wedding, but all the pictures I’ve seen made it look lovely. I hope good things for those two.
Goodness, well done you!! Hope you were able to catch up the sleep.
We were so lucky … it started around 6pm our time on Friday evening (with the first arrivals) and I think the kiss on the balcony was around 9 to 9.30pm. For once we got something at a civilised time.
God I wished I could have watched the royal wedding coverage! But drat, no cable meant no watching for this American. I have read as much news coverage as I can get my hands on, though, and from what I’ve read/seen, it was an absolutely beautiful day/ceremony. Great update!
