What better way to start the week than with a picture of my absolutely favourite library? The Library of Parliament in Ottawa is probably the first library I fell in love with and that feeling hasn’t faded. I want to visit it, I want to work in it, I basically want to live in it. As far as I am concerned, this library is perfection.
Oh my gosh, I can see why you fell in love with that library – it’s stunning!
Well, that certainly reminds me that I haven’t been inside it since I was about 10, so I must make a point of taking a tour (if I may) next time I’m in Ottawa, but since I just got home from there last night, probably will be a few months….)
And to think, it’s the only part of the Parliament Buildings to have survived the 1916 fire, thanks to the fireproof doors (see, I remember what I learned on that last tour, after more decades than I care to think about).
I actually gasped when I saw this picture!
Wow – that is the most gorgeous library. Hope I will get the chance to visit it someday!
That is an amazing library! If I lived anywhere close I’d probably want to spend all my days there as well!
That’s stunning. I love these sort of libraries which is just filled with so much character, history and personality. The actual books will probably be extremely boring but wow!
Wow! That is an amazing library! I could be happy living there too.
In Ottawa…really?! I had no idea…it’s gorgeous!
WOW!
One of my favourite libraries is the one in the Harry Potter movies, especially the later movies. With those tall windows…
So pretty!
That’s marvelous. Note to self: visit when in Ottawa.
It is indeed gorgeous. It reminds me of a Facebook group called “I’d Marry the Beast if I Could Have a Library Like That…” whre members upload photos of their favorite library.
